Today I did a “motivational speech” type thing at The Da Vinci Institute in Jackson.
Honestly, I didn’t want to do it at first, but I’m happy I did. Like I told them, I really don’t like to talk about myself. Seems pretentious (and DoucheBaggy.) But it went well. I think they enjoyed it a lot.
Instead of talking about myself, I decided to show them some stuff I’m working on lately. I showed them the Keytar (Roland Ax-Synth) I got from the school to use for synth ensemble. I showed them a song I made on the iPad 2 using garageband and hooked that into the projector. I also showed them the vid rhythm app and called people up to play parts. I think they had fun with that. They laughed when they saw the final video.
It sucked when the projector turned off for some reason, but I am going to email it to them. Lastly my Aunt Mary (a teacher there) played them the “Ode To Fall” Music Video on the projector (which decided to start working again -____-).
Overall it was cool, and most importantly I hope at least one person got the message. That I would have never learned the things I’ve learned or gotten to do the things I’ve done if I didn’t leave Jackson and go to college.
